NEW LAWS PLEASE READ BELOW (PARENTS AND STUDENTS) - EFFECTIVE AUGUST 1ST, 2008

New Driving Laws Effective August 1st (These laws apply to 16 & 17 year old drivers:)

No driving between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m.

For the first six months after obtaining their license, they will not be allowed to drive with passengers other than their parents or guardians, a licensed driving instructor, or an instructor who has had a driver's license for at least four years and is 20 years old or older.

During the second six months, teenagers are able to drive members of their extended family.

Questions frequently asked:

Forms will be available once we get an actual date for the class. You can pick up the forms in the main office. Space is limited to 40 students (state mandated law).

In order to take the class you must be at least 16 by the time the class starts. (state mandated law).

Cost of Class $100.00 - Cost of Road Phase $250.00 - Total Cost $350.00

How long will the class be? 30 class hours (state law) approximately 3 - 4 weeks

Do I need my permit by the time the class starts? NO! You do not need your permit until you are ready to take the road phase.

Do you get a discount on the price of insurance if you take both the classroom and road phase or can you just take the classroom phase. Each insurance company is different. You need to call your insurance company to see if you get a discount for just taking the classroom phase.

Yes you can overlap the 2 summer classes (due to vacation) that run June and July.

Mr. Teta is the head of the Driver's Education Program - all questions outside of the above should be directed towards him.
