Soviet propaganda examples

World War II - A part of Fordham University's "Internet Modern History Sourcebook".  This site is made up of primary source readings, some of which will be assigned to P.H.S. classes.  Particularly focused on causes, battles, and results.  Many sites on the bombing of Hiroshima (pros and cons).  Handy for an Issue Controversy.

Fascism - Fascism in Italy and Spain.  Part of  Fordham University's "Internet Modern History Sourcebook".

Nazism - The beginning of the Nazi party.  Yet another part of  Fordham University's "Internet Modern History Sourcebook".

The Spainish Civil War-- A site on the causes and events surrounding this  prelude to the Second World War.

 Spanish Civil War, Cubism and Pablo Picasso -  Through examining Picasso's "Guernica," discover how historical and cultural issues of the Spanish Civil War influenced art.

Nazi & Soviet Art--  A site offering examples and analysis of totalitarian art.

Mussolini-- A one-page bio on the founder of fascism and dictator of Italy.

The rise of Adolph Hitler-- A full chronology of how Hitler and the Nazis came to power in Germany. Many interesting pieces of biographical info on Hitler's early years.

Himmler-- A one page bio about the head of the SS.

General links on WWII-- An interesting set of links to use in researching the war.

Freedom, Democide, War--  an interesting view of the twentieth century and the causes of war.

World War Propaganda--Tremendous source of propaganda posters from each of the major nations participating in each of the World Wars.

World War II Posters: Powers of Persuasion-- An exhibit of World War II posters from the holdings of the National Archives and Records Administration.

Dr. Seuss Went to War-- WWII cartoons from the pen of the Big Guy.  Beware Thing 1 and Thing 2...

Soviet political posters--  Great examples of Soviet propaganda and ideology.  Good stuff on the war.

Propaganda Analysis Home Page--  an excellent site categorizing and analyzing various types of propaganda.  An old favorite sited by everyone.

People On War-- a revisiting of the concept of rules of war, 50 years after the Geneva Convention.

A-Bomb Museum-- An excellent site on the atomic bomb.

Truman's decision-- A site containing primary documents involved in Truman's decision to use the bomb on Nagasaki and Hiroshima; lots of interesting information that might prove useful for an issue controversy.

Map Blast - Type in the location of any city and map blast will show you what would happen if that city was hit by a nuclear weapon.

Hiroshima Archive-- photos of the effectgs of the use of the Bomb, as well as links to explore.

Japanese War Crimes-- these pages focus on Japanese actions in China from the Chinese perspective.  Very damning stuff.
